My husband and I tried to learn ukulele from YouTube in the beginning, but didn’t get any good progress, so we decided to look for a teacher in our neighborhood. We both really enjoy ukulele lessons from Cole. Cole has given us the confidence and skills that we needed. He has a good sense of humour and has lots of patience. He is very knowledgeable of string instruments. It is wonderful to hear him play and he is truly inspiring.

I took guitar lessons with Cole in the fall and winter of 2015/2016. Cole is an excellent teacher – his energy, enthusiasm, knowledge, and love of music create a perfect learning environment for students. As well, he listens to his students and their expectations, and structures the lessons accordingly. He is well organized, punctual, and generous with his praise. Cole is by far the best music teacher I’ve had in the 40+ years I’ve been taking lessons.

Before I met Cole, I had been teaching myself to play guitar from Youtube videos and tab sites. Sure I could play songs and even write my own stuff, but I never really understood what I was doing. After just one lesson with Cole, so many things clicked and finally made sense. I told him my goals and he created a practice plan to help me reach all of them in the most efficient way.  I now have an easier time jamming with people, writing songs and getting the things I hear in my head out onto the fretboard.

What’s also really awesome about working with Cole is how accessible he is. If I’m ever not understanding something while practicing at home, I can always shoot him through a text and get a reply. He’s a really passionate teacher that really just wants to see you succeed. 

Cole has been teaching me guitar for six months now. Before taking lessons with him, I had reached a plateau in my guitar playing. This changed rapidly when Cole started teaching me advanced techniques in multiple styles of guitar. He is patient and pays close attention to detail when instructing his students. His passion for guitar and teaching is evident in each of his carefully planned lessons. I would recommend Cole to any guitar player, whether a beginner or an experienced guitar player like myself!

Cole is an outstanding music teacher. He knows so much about the instruments and also the history that goes into music. It was a great experience learning from him. He taught me the ukulele and in the future I hope to learn guitar from Cole as well! I thoroughly enjoy his lessons!

I first met Cole 2 yrs ago when my son’s guitar school was closing down. Cole offered to teach him and we’ve continued for almost two years. Under Coles tutelage he is learning new scales and technics that are moving him forward in ways far beyond where I thought he would be at this stage. Cole is a very educated musician and that knowledge is helping Kyle so much. I am now hearing a young Hendrix coming from my basement and am utterly blown away.

My overall experience being a student of Cole McBride has been a very positive experience. His musical talent is unreal, he is calm, comfortable, respectable and he makes learning new things exciting. I really enjoy his teaching style, he sets a good pace that makes understanding the music simpler. In his lessons he makes you feel relax, makes things fun and keeps you staying positive! I have now been learning to play the Base Guitar with Cole for 6 months and during this time I have advanced greatly in my practice. I have already recommended him to my friends who are now learning with him as well and also are greatly enjoying it!
